New
Rage
This is my attempt at something that I wish I'd had for a long time.
My own newsletter. I had the old one, and due to my own faults, I
realized it needed a revamping. So here it is, the new RAGE.
I'll do my best to provide you with interesting things to read and contemplate.
If you have any suggestions, just goto the author
section and mail me!

Icq'99
Well, this week, Mirabilis released
the long anticipated ICQ'99 in beta format. This has a lot of new
features and improvements including voice messaging, enhanced chat features,
and grouping of "buddies."
The new features have apparently already reached the majority of the icq
population, and the numbers are quickly rising. The buddy list future
won't ever be the same. Or will it?
The not-as-popular list, AOL instant messager, is gaining popularity now
however. Is this due to the new release of a more complicated ICQ'99?
Maybe. Just this weekend I installed AOLIM for a friend's parents
because of the simplicity. Apparently they just used it because it
was easier to use, a lot less features which of course means... a lot less
hassle.
I personally like the new ICQ'99 with all the new features. I've
had it for quite some time before it was evel a public release, and I've
liked it since the November day that I took 10 minutes to download it.
I trust that even a new user could struggle past the initial stage of trying
to figure out what they are doing. Its easy, and user friendly.
Head over to icq.com to check it out!

Pentium
III
Well, with the release of the Pentium III this week, I thought I might
bring it up. It is supposed to enhance the Internet and add so much
to your computer. That it may do seeing as it is a 64 bit processor,
but what will it take away?
The newest part and probably most controversial is the ID Chip addtion
to the popular Intel product. This chip will allow other people to
view your IP number when you are online. This basically is a number
that identifies where to send information for your computer to recieve
it. This will inturn allow people to crash your computer unless you
patch it, or Intel does.
More importantly yet, your money can be stolen if you buy things over the
net mainly becuase this chip will allow a third party to know when and
where you are online. This in turn can lead to them impersonating
you.
I personally will most likely stick to the AMD or a fixed version of the
P3 unless the programs that I use such as 3D Studio Max and the such that
require a pentium are made AMD compliant. I got most of my information
from the following source:
